Abstract
The aim of this workshop was to give people who already have some programming
experience
an introduction into the basics
of parallel programming . The focus was on programming models and
tools. In a brief overview we informed about the basic concepts
of parallel computer architectures and programming models. We then
gave an overview of
MPI
and
OpenMP
and provided access to parallel
computers in order to enable hands-on experience with those two
models. Additionally we introduced tools for
debugging
and
performance analysis .
